Street Food at Trinity Kitchen in June

I’m still amazed at the additional choice the street food vendors bring to Trinity Kitchen every month. I went down to have a look at what was on the menu for June.

First up was Catering Yorkshire and their interesting concept of Yorkshire Tapas.

With dishes like; spiced Bolton Abbey lamb burgers, Asparagus and Yorkshire feta tartlets and an amazing range of fresh cuts- grilled to order. You will be spoilt for choice.

Hay is a favourite of mine and the Other Half. We first sampled their Empanadas at one of the World food street feasts last year.

Hay (pronounced Aye) promises its guests a taste of South America and, does not disappoint. I especially liked the Sweet Potato and Chicken Empanadas, the fact that they are made fresh on site is a plus for me too.

Tacochu combines an American style taco filling with Japanese rice to create a really alternative fusion of two cuisines. Sample the Godzilla so that you get a bit of everything.

When you visit Mama’s Jerk Station come hungry as the portions are huge and very filling. The Jerk seasoning is a traditional recipe inspired by Adrian’s (the owner) Great Granny Charlotte.

Along with the chicken,  I also loved the caramelised edge to the plantain and the fact that the slaw was not covered in mayonnaise.

La Petite Bretonne are from Huddersfield and I have to say cook up some of the nicest Crepes I have ever had.

Xavier and Caroline were also on George Clarke’s ‘Amazing Spaces’ Channel 4 programme which, showed them lovingly converting a classic Citroen HY van into an amazing portable Creperie.

Goat cheese, rocket and Honey

La Petite Bretonne make their Crepes from Buckwheat flour and have a range of different fillings from Goats cheese, rocket with a touch of honey (my favourite, due to the fact that it did not have nuts) to your more traditional fillings like (nutella, banana, lemon and sugar).

There are lots more photos of this month’s and the other Trinity street food Vendors over at Really Nice Food’s Facebook page, Which has been your favourite so far? :
