Yes, well a trip to Mexico would be ideal but a cheaper alternative would be to get the new book from Thomasina Miles. I went to a supper club, Dine at the Manor that was based on this book and now it’s well and truly on my list for this year.

Naked wines is a wine club with a difference. Not only is the wine reasonably price but you will be helping to fund independent winemakers from around the world.

O is for Ottolenghi

Yotam Ottolenghi has single handedly put the va va voom into vegetarian food. His new book Plently will give you lots of inspiration for meatless meals.

P is for Pinche Pinche

I had to get my favourite Mexican in Leeds on the. Their new menu has a lot of different Mexican tapas style dishes. Pictured is the Fried Plantain, ice cream and Dulce de leche, which the Other Half has crowned as his favourite dessert….EVER. High praise indeed.

Q is for Quesadillas maker

Now you make forgiven that I am struggling for gift ideas but, the truth is that we have one of these and they are pretty amazing. Think posh sandwich maker. I must for a foodie that loves gadgets.

R is for Rolling pin

Now I’m sure that most avid bakers will own a rolling pin but, this one is pretty special. Made from Marble this pin keeps it cool in the kitchen and will help any baker in the quest not to have a soggy bottom.

S is for Smoker gun

Ever since I went to Grill on the Square in Leeds and had a Smoky Old Fashioned I’ve wanted a smoker. This machine can add the subtle smell of the BBQ in the months when it’s too cold and wet to light one outside.
