My other half and I were invited to sample the new evening menu at Pinche Pinche. We are massive fans of all things Mexican (and of the restaurant) so this was an offer we could not refuse.
Since re-opening its doors Pinche Pinche (formally Salsa Mexicana) has really pushed the boundaries of what people would expect at a Mexican restaurant, the new menu is no exception.
Old favorites like burritos and chimichangas can be found on the menu but these are now intermingled with some truly authentic mexican grub.
Out of all the food we sampled my favorites would have to be the Guacamole, once you have tried the this you will find it hard to go back to the shop brought stuff. Chunky and smooth all at the same time and just the right amount of tomatoes.
Another favourite was the Tostada Barbacoa perfectly marinaded lamb in a corn tortilla not only is it gluten free, but you can add one of the many salsas to the dish to turn up (or chill down) the meal.
The Tlacoyos brought a smile to our faces as we spent most of our holiday in Mexico last year sampling these.
Tlacoyos have a corn cake base and are topped with refried black beans, Salsa Verde, shredded lettuce and Wensleydale cheese, you then have a choice of toppings we had the chicken
The Duck Fajitas however, was the star of the show for me it went down a treat even the other loved it which I was surprised at (Seeing he said that he hates Duck).
As well as the new evening menu Pinche Pinche is opening for Lunch and Breakfast as well, seeing we sampled the evening menu we thought we would pop by on the weekend too.
My other half opted for the all day Breakfast Burrito, the sausage is marinated in red wine and garlic this really helps to bring out the flavours of the meat.
I had the Huevos Rancheros with a fried egg, it was nice and spicy, just the way I like it.
This was finished off with a plate of Churros (a must to finish with any meal at Pinche Pinche) and a couple of coffees.
