What’s not to love about pie.

Flaky pastry, rich fillings and a plethora of side dishes that you can match to suit your mood.

When I mentioned that I was going to review the new pie place, there was so much interest I ended up going with three of my mates.

The first thing that draws your eye to the restaurant is the neon yellow lights. What could go wrong with a restaurant that has ‘Pie’ in its name ?


Once inside I was amazed to see what they had done with the space. The dark oak furniture works well, I think this is due to the massive amount of light from the windows. There’s also the fact that it’s situated right on the corner opposite the Corn Exchange. It would be a shame to miss out on that view.

We were seated at a booth and had a first look at the menu, well first look at the paper form, we had spent most of lunchtime salivating over the online one.

Some of the Pies we wanted were already sold out, so we opted for a Minty Lamb (one of the Specials), Deerstalker and Chicken of Aragon, we also got some Halloumi Sticks.

The list of sides is immense, from macaroni cheese to a fresh leaf salad. I went for the Sweet potato chips.

There was a bit of confusion when all the food came out but we sorted it out in the end. What I loved about my dish, well all the dishes is that the gravy is on the side.

The pies were delicious, whole pies (none of this pastry top malarky), flaky pastry with just the right amount of filling.

The only gripe we had from the table was the fact that it would have been nice to have the mash on the side (which I’m sure they would do if asked).


Would I go back ?
