Leeds Loves Food

It’s that time of year again when Leeds celebrates all that is great about the food scene here. This year we are in for a treat as the festival runs from Friday 24th May right through until Sunday 9th June.

The fortnight is jam packed with loads of events from pop up restaurants, outdoor BBQs (weather pending) to Street Food events and cooking demos – there’s something for everyone.

Today the other half and I tucked into the World Feast on Briggate.

We got talking to the guys on the Sandinista Stall. Known for their killer cocktails (I do love their Mojitos) they were promoting their Spanish tapas menu.

Having a quick look at the menu and smelling the Paella on the stall (With rabbit, yum) it’s definitely on my lists of places to go. The menu is here: http://www.sandinista.co.uk/downloads/main-menu-leeds.pdf

Briggate was absolutely heaving with street food love with queues everywhere, it was great to see people trying out some of my favorites like Fish& and my local lunch haunt El Topo.

We sampled Empanadas at new South American stall Hay, Pronounced like aye, this was only their second voyage out and I hope to see them again soon in August.

Along with the food there was lots of entertainment, we caught Zulu traditions, here’s are some pics but they dont really do it justice.

There are plenty of things going on over the next two weeks. Click on this map:  http://mediafiles.thedms.co.uk/Publication/YS-Leeds/cms/pdf/Leeds%20Food%20Festival%202013%20-%20Map.pdf its a good starter for ten.
