Olympic Food Challenge no.9 France- Lobster Thermidor

Well I had hoped today I would have to a grand finale to the Olympic food challenge but seeing that I am away next weekend, I find myself in the dilemma of having to finish my last dishes before I go away on Friday. However, as Baldrick would say “I have a cunning plan”, of which I will keep you posted on over the next couple of days.

I am sure you all know where France is so for this post I decided not to bore you with facts and figures about the country.

I love French food and have cooked most of the classic dishes over the years but, there was one left that I had not tired and felt that this was the a good a time as any.

For me Lobster Thermidor marks the hight of sophistication in French cookery and have in sampled it at many restaurants, I could not wait to try and make it myself.

On our way for our way to Saturday coffee and lunch we stumbled and found a van on Street Lane selling seafood from Whitby, this is not as odd as it sounds as he informed us that he is here every Saturday until 2.

I brought a whole Lobster but as I had never prepared it I was at a loss as to what to do with it. Cue Google and finding a technique on what to do. It was so simple.

how to prepare Lobster

Now that I have prepared this recipe, I can’t wait to do it again. Next French challenge Snails !!
