Dough Bistro

I met Luke from Dough Bistro at  Swillington Farm’s Meat up where he created so amazing canapés on the day.

He had just compiled a molecular menu which sounded intriguing to say the least. As luck would have it there was a Groupon voucher available for the experience so I snapped one up to use on a rainy day.

So, one rainy day in September, my friend and I decided to check it out. Dough Bistro is situated in far Headingley. Since the last time I went, the restaurant has been extended and has a bar.

I have to say I loved the creative flair of some of the dishes, you really did not know what you were going to get until it arrived at the table.

The Dough Bistro’s Prawn Cocktail was a good example of this, the cucumber gels mixed with the rose marie foam was a interesting mix of textures but you did not lose the essence of the dish.

The ‘Pickle in a Garden’ was a work of art, I did not know where to start, the goat cheese foam worked well with the acidity of the vegetables and the little pots on the plate were adorable.

Neither my friend or I was a fan of the parmesan ice cream as the parmesan struggled to come through the cream.

My favourite would have to be the own made spaghetti, mainly because you get a syringe and have your make your own lobster spaghetti (thus the name i suppose).

The tasting menu can be ordered with matching wines and this is something that I will do on my next visit.

Dough Bistro prides itself on using locally sourced produce and with the menu continually changing depending on the season it worth a visit.

Check out the website as there are special themed nights every now and again
